Eklund: Goalie Carousel? Avs/Pens Interest in Miller,NJ in Hiller/Niemi, SJ in MAF?

i dont understand why any of those teams would make any of those moves except for Pitts going for Miller.

Why would NJ want Hiller with Schneider? Why would SJ want Fleury over Niemi? Why would Colorado want Miller with Varlamov?

Why would NJ move for Hiller or Niemi when DeBoer came out and stated that the tandem goalie rotation didnt work anymore and they are giving the net full time to Schneider now and are even only interested in bringing back Brodeur if he accepts a backup role?

While I think the SJ and Pittsburgh rumours have legs, I can't see Colorado or NJ looking at adding a guy like Miller and Hiller. Varlamov and Schneider are solid starters, who are not too old either. There are only a few vacancies for goalies this off-season. NYI, Minny, maybe Vancouver, Washington, and Winnipeg. All depends on what those last 3 teams project with Lack, Holtby, and Pavelec.

Ryan Miller went to Colorado for a wedding last summer and has a lot of friends there soooo he has been barking this same rumour since then.

Also, c'mon Varlamov is the guy in COL and I doubt SJ moves Neimi.

I hinted that I was working on the Miller rumor yesterday during the podcast, but I got confirmation this morning that Patrick Roy will be exploring "the option of bringing Ryan Miler to Colorado."

Varley has solidified himself as a starter in this league....not sure this makes any sense at all dollars wise either.

While calling around this morning and checking on the rumor I also discovered quite a few people who are of the belief the Penguins could look to Ryan Miller as well. On adding, "There is a better than 50/50 shot in my opinion the Penguins move for Miller."

This I could see, Penguins wanting to move on from MAF

When i asked, "What would become of Marc Andre Fleury in that scenario?" I was told that San Jose might be a team that would move for Fleury...

This makes some sense also, if San Jose wants to shake things up. Minor Upgrade.

Except maybe the Pens none of these teams have issues they'd want to bring in other goalies and create controversies with. Why would NJ trade for any of these guys with Schneider there? Create a goaltending controversy for lols?

Don't be surprised if Miller or Hiller ends up there for family reasons (closer to LA than somewhere on the east coast).

As far as EK's overreaching, rumor has it he had dinner with Dee Karl last night.
